The Final Leg of the Trip

Sorry to leave you hanging, if you were expecting me to write more down :). I was intending to write out the rest of the trip, but since I'm now in Guatemala, I'll have to condense it down so that I can begin to write about the new adventure I'm on!

On Saturday night, in Frankfurt, I went to see the opera "The Tempest" at the Oper Frankfurt. It was really well done, but really, really, really weird. If you want to see what it was like, search "The Tempest Opera" on YouTube and you'll understand why I think it was weird. It was my first "real" opera at a major opera house. Although I couldn't understand them well (even though the music was in English) I enjoyed it and feel it was worth going to.

The next day I flew from Frankfurt back to London. My flight was scheduled to arrive around noon, but there was bad weather, so it was delayed for three hours. I arrived around three and rushed to the Royal Albert Hall to see the last half-hour of the Cirque du Soleil show I had bought a ticket for earlier. The show was amazing, and I was able to be in the top standing area in the Hall, so I got to see it from above (and film a bit of it...shhhhhh!).

After the show, I went to my Couch Surfing host's apartment and had supper with him. We then ventured around London and he showed me some places that all visitors should see (although I can't remember most of their names because I struggle with names sometimes). We went to Chinatown, which was interesting to see—not super different form Chinatowns all over the world.

We returned back to the flat and talked for a while before I fell asleep. When I woke up, I ate breakfast with William, and then made my way to the Heathrow Airport by using the fast Heathrow Express train. I checked in at the airport and then boarded my flight to Iceland. I flew with IcelandAir, which is a nice company with good planes—I had my own movie screen that I could select movies or T.V. shows, or even music, to watch/listen to (and it was a touch screen! Nifty!). When I landed in Iceland, I got my passport stamped (although I never left the airport :() and then went directly through a pretty lame security check point. Then boarded the plane and flew to Seattle! In Seattle, I went to my flight to Walla Walla and ran into my relative Jim Fisher and another friend, Professor Dave Thomas. We flew to Walla Walla, but because the weather was so bad (too much fog around the small airport), we weren't able to land and had to fly all the way back to Seattle! Once there, I got my bag and then most all of us went to the Holiday Inn Express to stay the night. In the morning, we caught a flight to Pasco, where mom was waiting to pick us up and take us home.

Overall, this trip was completely amazing. I had SO many wonderful experiences meeting new people and seeing old friends, trying new things and eating fantastic food. I know that some part of me has grown and that I am a more well-rounded person because of it all. Although I was just there, I can't wait to go back!

I encourage anyone to go on a trip like this. It's incredible—like nothing else!

I'd like to thank God, too, for keeping me safe and yet still providing me with plenty of adventure and new experiences! I always knew I could count on Him—you all can, too.
