Days 8-9, January 6-7

I'm writing this down because I'm already forgetting what happened yesterday! :)

On the 6th, we all slept in (it's an ongoing theme, you see) and then went by moped to a castle that is really close to the Sagunto SDA/ACA school. The moped only holds two people each, so we took two trips to get there. Of course, with our luck, the castle was closed and so we just walked around for a bit within the non-gated area. After that, we headed over to the coast (just a few minutes away). There is a fantastic little gelato place there, and it just happens to be run by Adventists! Who knew Adventists were so "with it" :) haha. I got some crema del queso and melon gelato. It was really tasty.

After gelato, we decided to go eat some food at an Italian restaurant. Although it was after 7, they told us that the chef wouldn't be in until 8:30 to make dinner (Spaniards eat awfully late here). So, we went on a walk along the beach and over to a harbor where they have a lot of sailboats. It was a nice walk and we enjoyed talking about all sorts of things. When we got back to the restaurant, we ordered some pizza, rocquefort gnocchi, and pesto gnocchi. It was really delicious and well priced.

Then we went home (after I got some more gelato when I waited for Cristian to come get me after taking Kaity to the girls' dorm).

January 7—we did practically nothing today. The weather here turned horrible—never-ending rain, wind, and just plain cold. Cristian and I took care of the foster babies while mom and sister went shopping (today was Spain's equivalent to our Black Friday). We ate and watched a movie. Then Kaity came over after she finished school and we watched another movie and ate some more. We played a fun game called "Party" for an hour or so, then ate more and talked. We dropped Kaity back off at school and then Cristian and I watched an episode of "How I Met Your Mother."

I'm writing pretty quickly and not very thoroughly because I'm tired, cold, and the computer's running out of juice. The wind here is really strong (and the house, although very beautiful, leaks—so I'm keeping an eye out for water running down the walls), so I hope I can get some sleep :).

Tomorrow, if all goes as planned, I will be flying to Geneva to meet up with Scott Guthrie who is studying at Collonges. I've heard there's going to be a lot of snow. Argh. I wish it were warmer!
